Inishfree is a small island, about 1 square mile in area with unspoilt beaches of golden sand and beautiful scenery. Over the years the island was has been inhabited, deserted and reinhabited. Originally home thirty six families it was then deserted for a long time before being re-inhabited in recent years and its new residents are happy to welcome visitors and also offer cultural courses and events during the year on topics such as music, dancing, arts, crafts, poetry, nature and heritage.
Inishfree Island offers you the chance to get away to an offshore island to sample some genuine Irish culture and traditions in a truly unique place. Consider taking a step back in time to enjoy storytelling in front of the hearth in the kitchen to play or listen to music and enjoy the craic, and lots more off the coast of Donegal.
