The Abbey Hotel in Roscommon is a lovely 18th century Manor House hotel. The setting for the hotel is idyllic with it's own private grounds and gardens. The hotel name is dervied from the Dominican Abbey, built in the 13th century by Felim O'Connor, famous for being the last high King of Connacht. The ruins of the Dominican Abbey remain visible from the hotel to this day.
