Arigna

Arigna is a tiny hamlet located near the western shores of Lough Allen. It is one of 3 villages in Kilronan Parish and for a period of 200 years it was the centre for coal mining in Ireland. The Arigna valley is lush, green and beautiful, very different to the industrial dark place associated with coal-mining activity.
