Kilmacrennan

The religious inauguration of the O'Donnell chieftains took place in the Abbey in Kilmacrennan, which is now in ruin. The secular ceremony was on Doon Rock, which is a few km from the village. Lugyvale thatched Cottage, on the outskirts of the village, is a 150-year-old restored thatched cottage where the lifestyle of early 19th century Ireland is recalled.
