Shercock
Shercock is located in the middle of Cavan's drumlin belt. The drumlins make for a picturesque landscape which is dominated by these small, steep hills with lakes and bogs pocketed in between them. These drumlins are a feature of the glaciation which occurred in the region during the end of the ice age.
Shercock is a popular angling centre with nearby Lough Sillan its main fishing location. Other angling spots can be found at Milltown lake, Roosky lake and Steepleton's lake. Fishing bait, tackle and boats can all be bought and rented locally.
The local Church of Ireland is a handsome building dating from the final years of the 18th century and is worth exploring.
