Kilnaleck
Kilnaleck is a quaint village in close to the towns of Oldcastle, Ballyjamesduff and Virginia. Kilnaleck is in an area of historic significance with many examples of prehistoric remains.
Ballintemple near Kilnaleck shows evidence of a late Iron Age rath or fort. Also, the remains of Crosserlough church were originally built in the later middle ages. Crosserlough Catholic church which was built in 1888, was designed by the famous Church architect William Hague Junior who is also credited with the design of the Archbishops Palace in Drumcondra, Co. Dublin along with numerous other churches in County Cavan.
